Art supplies and where to get them in Paris
I get asked very often which tools I use so I've gathered those in my Q&A section right here. Below are my top 3 boutiques to get art supplies in Paris.
1. Sennelier (7eme)
This is the absolute dream! Classic oldschool art shop interior.
For over 100 years, Magasin Sennelier has been supplying artists with the tools they need. Still owned by the Sennelier family, the store has served names like Cézanne, Degas, Picasso and Lagerfeld, many times creating new products and shades to their exact specifications. Inside, you'll find hundreds of different shades of pastels, along with huge arrays of pens, pencils, and papers.
3 Quai Voltaire, 75007
Check opening hours online as they differ
2. Rougier et Plè (3eme)
When I need the basics this one is a favorite - Rougier et Plè up by Filles du Calvaire (It has the biggest selection but you can find them elsewhere in Paris). This is where I go to get my big sheets of Arches paper and where I swoon over watercolors and pencils.
On the ground floor you'll mostly find hobby supplies so go up the stairs to get the goodies.
15 Boulevard des Filles du Calvaire, 75003
9:30 - 19, closed on Sundays
3. Les Papéteries Réaumur (2eme)
Right by the metro stop Sentier (line 3), in the heart of Paris, you have a hidden gem. Watercolors, pencils, paper, boxes etc. but the main reason I love it so much is that they have cardboard envelopes in A3 and other sizes that you can buy as a single items and not having to order 50-100 online. You find those downstairs with paper, tubes, briefcases etc.
116 rue Réaumur, 75002
9.30 - 19, closed on weekends
